Rusty (Michelle's boyfriend) and I left Marion sometime Friday night. We made it to Columbus in time to watch Red White and Boom from the traffic stopppage on I-71. So that was cool. We drove and drove ... and drove. We finally got to our first destination ... NITRO!! The "girls" weren't there though, much to our disapointment. Well, more just to Rusty's disappointment. This is a really bad picture of him too, by the way.

We got to North Carolina, and after a brief detour into a dead end road, we found Jenn's house.

We got there, however, at 6 am, and no one was awake. After I crowed like a rooster to no avail (my logic being that these were farm people, and a rooser crow would surely wake them up ... but it didn't), Jenn's mom finally found us and guided us upstairs.
So anyway, we eventually all were awake at the same time, so we decided to go sight-seeing. Along the way, we stopped for ice cream ... doesn't Rusty just look so thrilled?!

Jenn's about the only one awake ... I'm forcing a smile. Aren't we just so cute?

And Michelle, oh my gosh, got THE BIGGEST thing on the menu!! What a hog!! All I can say to that is "oink oink!"

Hey look, it's the "bucket o' chicken hair salon" as it was pointed out to us by Jenn.

On our way to Border's we saw a giant cellular phone ... so we honked and took his picture.

While we were at Border's, I got some "interesting" reading material ... and boy was it ever fun to watch Jason squirm! But why his name had to be Dick was beyond us all!!
We went swimming every day ... sometimes more than once a day. It was a lot of fun. Swimming at night was the best. Jenn's place is about 10 minutes away from a national forest, and within that was Badin Lake. We swam at the Cove boat ramp every time.

Here they are ... after a swim ... Justin (Jenn's brother), Karen (Jenn's mom), Michelle, and Jenn ... in the kitchen

Rusty and Michelle ... don't they just make the cutest couple? Here they are in Jenn's room ... which seems to be in a perpetual state of organized chaos. :)

One evening, after we got back from the playground and watching Wild Wild West, we threw a birthday celebration for Rusty.

An ice cream cake from DQ!

We all got the chance to ride Jenn's horse, Shirley. I liked Easter better ... but oh well.

Here we have Rusty, Shell and the person you haven't met yet, Jason, in Jenn's room. Just chillin ... probably talking about "Gaston" or "Society X" or something like that.

In order for Michelle to get home, we (Jenn, Rusty, Jason, and I) took her to meet her brothers half-way between NC and NJ ... which we decided was at this Hardee's in VA. Mike and Frank were really much the jerks that this picture makes them out to be.

On the way back to NC from VA, we stopped at a Waffle House. Only in North Carolina will you see a giant "mountain man" standing to greet you at the entrance to a Waffle House.

Jason, Jenn, Rusty, and I wanted to get a picture of our server, Rob or something like that. He refused to get his picture taken, so he gathered up a "flock of people" to be in the picture.

Jennifer ... "wide awake" in the Waffle House parking lot.

How he ever got his leg up that high is beyond me ... although I guess Jenn's not that tall ... but who really cares, right?

Like I said, I had a WONDERFUL time in North Carolina. We ran around free as birds without a care in the world!!
